Mr. Buppers
Breed: Chow Chow/Newfoundland/Labrador Retriever MixWeight: 101 pounds
Gender: Male
Favorite Activities: He loves to ride in the car - even if, as in this picture, we only went two blocks!
Story: I got him from Northwoods Humane Society. I went in thinking they wouldn't have any "big dog puppies," but they sure did! He is a conflicted dog: Lab, loves to fetch, loves water, loves to play, webbed feet; Chow, too regal to play (you threw it - you go get it), hates water. But every now and then, he forgets himself, and brings something back, or gets wet without being dragged into the lake and then realizes what he has done, and looks all offended. He loves to cuddle (when he can), and tears around like a puppy when I clap!

Abbey
Breed: Labrador Retriever/Brittany Spaniel MixWeight: 45 pounds
Gender: Female
Favorite Activities: Blind and deaf (except for food cupboard), but still takes a daily walk and wriggles when she gets excited. She LOVES to swim. But now, she swims with a leash on, because otherwise I have to swim out and "capture" her and bring her back to shore!
Story: Loves to be by me - wherever I am, sometimes almost underfoot now that she is blind/deaf. She is still happy, and loves to romp - so she gets to live long and prosper (she is about 17 now) until she doesn't seem to enjoy life anymore. She would do this upside-down wiggle to scratch her back, and you could almost see her laughing.

Theona
Breed: Domestic Longhair CatGender: Female
Favorite Activities: Another mighty hunter of moles and mice. Very athletic; likes to hang out in odd places. Her tail shakes like a rattle when she is happy.
Story: Theona came from the Humane Society.

Butch
Breed: Domestic Shorthair CatGender: Male
Story: Butch passed on last fall at the age of 19. Butch was a hunter. When he was little, he was REAL little, and liked to ride around in the hood of our sweatshirts, or in the pocket. He always loved to lie on his people, but he also drooled when content (blechh), but we loved him regardless.
